Remote Learning Class 3-31-20- Rodrigo Aguiluz

Today Tuesday on the 31st of march, we did online class and it was a different experience in my entire life. It felt like a conference meeting and we were all sharing ideas. I just wish to face time with my group to be honest, but it was a complete and different experience for me in a good way though. I liked how everyone related with me because a lot people were just waking up, so i wasn't the only one. Some wanted to debate right off the bat.as i said it, its pretty good to do this to be honest and it feels pretty fun to do.

Remote Learning

Hello group mates, I hope you are all doing well. We are moving into a remote learning environment, which is something I’m not too well accustomed to, but will be something I will have to adapt to since the remainder of the semester is set to be done online. It’s going to be interesting, for sure. Maybe a bit annoying too. I hope the first day of the online class with Professor Sinkoff goes well and smoothly. Also, we have another presentation that we have to work on soon on persuasion. There will for sure be certain challenges along with it, but maybe now there will be different and new challenges. Many may rise because it will all be executed through virtual and online means, no physical presence or physical contact of a group. I’m not too worried for this group because I think we have a good dynamic and a good leader. - Erika Zuniga

Quaratin -Mabys

These days have been ok for a while. I have been sleeping in a lot to catch up on the hours I have missed since the beginning of the new semester, I'm not too fond on the online learning since I learn better in person but maybe this will give me a chance to surpass all my classes and not being held back because of the classes I failed. I will be honest I have been slacking off because I've been so exhausted from all my classes, but I'm now taking a class to learn Korean upon my other five classes. When I get bored at home, I would play on wii since I still have it in my room and then I started looking all around for Nintendo DSi and I can't find it anywhere. I have been talking to my friends a lot more since we are all at home. I was supposed to go to Orlando with my friends and my friend and cousin who are from New York since we were going to a concert happening there. We already had an airbnb set up and everything for this trip, however, due to the coronavirus every
Hello group mates. I hope this post finds you all well. Since our topic for the presentation covered the wealth aspect of our nation, I think it has been interesting and worrying to see how the global pandemic that is the coronavirus is affecting multiple economies around the world. It's mind boggling and heart breaking to see how lives of millions around the world are forcefully being changed and altered. Here in the United States, millions have filed for unemployment. In order to largely prevent the spread of the disease and bacteria, social distancing, lock downs, and self-quarantine-ing or self-isolating must be put into practice. Many industries and businesses are taking a hit in order to prevent the spread. They are closing their shops, letting their employees go, and are losing a significant amount of profit. What is happening around the world seems so unreal. It seems like it is a concept taken from a video game or a plot right out of a book or movie. It sounds made up. Unl

Quarantine Update

Brismayra Andrade I've been getting the hang of things lately. Like I mentioned, having my routine broken was a hassle but things are getting a little easier. I've just come to realization and I have stopped trying to take control of everything. We just have to let things flow and live on a day by day basis so that we don't go crazy. Every day at work there are new changes, from us getting paid, to learning new systems to work from home, and even having to reschedule patients 2 to 3 times a week. Making sure that patients aren't sick and taking certain measures with them has been a success we have been controlling that pretty well I think. I also feel like moments like this stress everyone out to the point where we argue over things that normally we would be able to talk about without a certain attitude. Quarantine has been basically impossible since work is still going on but for the most part I have been staying home. I just really hope all of this goes awa

School

Brismayra Andrade So receiving an email saying that the rest of the semester will be online has be going a little nuts since I hate being on a computer. Not only is school through online but my job is slowly getting there as well. No other words to type but: stressed. Bye.

Quarantine Time

Brismayra Andrade Even though school has been closed due to the corona virus, my job hasn't. It seems a little crazy that being in the gastro side of the medical field and them knowing the magnitude of danger this has they'll still make us go to work. But I guess that's what comes with working in the medical field in general. 🙏 Honestly, I just want to be quarantined at home and do everything from there. I am kind of crazy when it comes to taking care of my health especially with such breakout like this one. I guess we'll just see how this turns out.

Scary Moment

Brismayra Andrade A few days after school had been cancelled I went to work and ended up finding out that the doctor I work for was in close contact with someone who had been tested positive for COVID-19. It was the scariest thing ever. We had to close the office immediately and got sent home to self quarantine until the doctor tested and gave us a response.   We then waited... waited a little more.... freaked out A LOT..... and then waited some more....... and FINALLY got a response like 5 days later. It was NEGATIVE. Thank god it was because I wasn't going to be able to forgive myself for putting all of my boyfriend's family in that sort of danger.

COVID-19 came to town

Brismayra Andrade Last Thursday we were informed that we might not go back to school because of COVID-19. I'm so glad I was able to get the presentation from this class and the midterm exam from my Psychology class done. It would have been really stressful if I would have studied everything for no reason and had to wait on my teacher to re-assign that exam with further notice.

Group Presentation

Brismayra Andrade Our group presentation was last week Thursday and it went really well! I feel like it was perfectly planned since we were the only group that finished with time still left in class. We were all dressed professionally and were very informative on the slides we created, while not reading straight from the board. We were able to achieve the A we wanted along with getting great recognition on our Agenda, the professor even wants to use it as an example for future students that will have to do the same assignment. Overall it was a fun project as we were all able to communicate perfectly and get to what we wanted. 💪

Wealth

Image
We focus on the theme “Wealth” that was selected by our professor Sherri Sinkoff. The topic was creative, focused, and manageable; in this presentation, my group had enough time to do researcher on different subtopics such as technology and artificial intelligence, disparage between classes, farmers, students loans, socials security, financial stability, and business. We successfully explored the topic. This presentation was challenging for us because there was a lot of information, but we decided to take the most important part so that each member of the group team could present. We discussed various viewpoints and approached to our topic. In addition, we presented how technology affected the national economy and how it can impact one’s wealth for better or for worse, we explained the differences between classes and how the middle class is disappearing and what are the underlying causes. We proceeded to informed about the importance of farming and the amount of wealth that generates

The Morals and Ethics in our Society

Image
This group focused on what requirements do politicians need to meet in order to run for an office in the United States, and how has today’s society changed our country in politics, religion and relationships. They started with a very good introduction and interacted with the audience. They explained basic information about political members. On the other hand, this group showed too many videos, and some of their slices contained paragraphs instead of bullets. Yesi Valdez

Health Care Presentation

Image
This group who present the theme Health Care focused on Medicare and Medicaid, Obama Care and Affordable Health Plan, and GOP Health Care Bill. They started with the meaning of Health Care, so we can understand the concept before they explained the main topic. They showed us the different insurance plans which are health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, and exclusive provider organizations; then they explained the insurance benefits, the insurance plans, and reasons for the cost of health. Also, this group mentioned the four parts of Medicare, as well as those that are mandatory and optional. They proceeded to Medicaid benefits, and the requirements to qualify, Medicaid varies from state to state. The presentation was clear and made the audience feel very comfortable; however, they showed to many videos and were too long. Yesi Valdez

A Good Leader

Image
A good leader must possess exceptional organizational skills in order to coordinate group goals and objectives. For me, my group is the best because we have an extraordinary leader. Having a good quality leader is essential. However, our group adhered to the calendar and agenda that our leader Charles Legido organized in order to have the presentation ready. Yesi Valdez

What are some things you all are doing to pass time? Passing gas? Ha. No. Maybe. v(:|)v I completed a puzzle. - Erika Zuniga

Congratulations

Hello group mates. I would like to give all of you air fives for doing well on the presentation. We all got passing grades, so YAY! I'm glad we didn't go past the class time. Also, we won't be seeing much of each other for some time due to the virus and preventing the spread of it. I hope you all are being safe! - Erika Zuniga

Group presentation - Nielsen Nip

Hello, group presentations went well! I really was satisfied with how everyone was well prepared with their portion of the presentation. I also enjoyed watching all the other presenters present. I listened to their presentations and learned from it in, they grabbed the classes attention and they maintained them focused on their topic. My topic for the presentation was based on how farmers wealth contributes to the United States wealth. Completing research for the presentation made me gain knowledge about something I did not know before. I also learned about technology and ways it is beneficial for us and ways it can negatively impact us. Even though presenting can be a bit nerve racking at times, however I know this is something that will mold all of us to be better speakers in the future. This is something that just takes practice and learning on how to keep the audience entertained  on what one is speaking about.

Hey team! I am so excited to work on the study guide with my teammate Yesi!

No gym?????? - Nielsen Nip

Going to the gym is part of my daily routine, but now with this virus outbreak, the gym is where everyone touches everything and where you are more likely to catch it due to all the sweat and germs.  So I decided to pick up a couple weights from someone and make a home gym! I tried it out and it worked. Now I can work out at home and still get these gainzzz regardless of this virus 😎.

:))))) - Nielsen Nip

Hey guys, I just wanna say you guys are the best group I've had in a while I hope your jobs are not overworking you all. The fact they canceled classes is pretty bad news to me. I enjoy getting up to go to class so that I'm up early and feel productive. This virus has me washing my hands like every time I touch something lmfao. By the time this virus is gone, my hands will be too. 😂 Maybe in a couple of weeks this outbreak will get under control and the sickness will stop spreading, let's hope.

Coronavirus UPDATED - Nielsen Nip

Hey guys! How are you guys doing? It has been a while since have I have seen my classmates. This coronavirus has everyone buying toilet paper and I don't seem to understand why their buying toilet paper LMFAO 🧻.  Anyway I hope you guys are doing well and staying safe from this deadly virus. Some quick advice, I recommend not visiting your grandparents while this is still going on because they are very delicate and it is better if you do not visit them in my opinion. My parents have restocked in can foods in case the United States has an outbreak, which I believe will eventually happen.

opinion of the 1st and 2nd presentation

What do you all think of the other groups' presentations and how do you think we compared side by side with them?  Also what are your expectations for the 4th and final group? They said they did the entire project through a video instead of PowerPoint like all the other groups.  To me it seems risky but I do hope they can pull it off successfully. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and I know you all feel great to have the pressure of this project to be lifted off your backs. I feel relieved. Charles Legido

Our presentation after actions review

Charles Legido We can all breath easily now that our presentation has come to an end.  We all did an outstanding job and deserved that A.  Don't forget to finish whatever you have remaining for your 500 words in the blogs.  What other comments do you all have on what we did well and how we can all improve in the next upcoming projects.  Thank you all for your hard work and making these presentations not only informative but also entertaining as well.   You have all been a blast and a pleasure to work with and look forward to whatever may come next for us. via GIPHY

Student Loan Interview- Rodrigo

Image
In this video, it shows what democratic candidates wants to do with student loans. Building on his plans to make community college tuition-and-fee free in his 2017 College for All proposal, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders unveiled a new plan on Monday to cancel all student loan debt in America, partnering with Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Ilhan Omar, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. On Monday, the group announced a new proposal that would relieve $1.6 trillion of debt for approximately 45 million people, regardless of income, including all private and graduate school debt as well. Sanders’ support for this latest plan represents an escalation in his policy arms race with Warren, who released a plan in April that would eliminate up to $50,000 of student loan debt for people earning less than $100,000 per year. In total, Warren’s proposal would cancel approximately $640 billion of student debt for approximately 42 million people. At a press conference on Monday morning, Sanders cut off a reporter who

Tips for how to present

Once you have your slides completed, go review them to ensure you understand your talking points.  It will help you build confidence in what you have to say and present making the presentation easier and eliminate any added anxiety.  On a side note lets not go over board with videos.  I have a few but lets keep the videos to a minimum.  Videos/interviews should only cover the topic of wealth as a whole,  which I have already added, technology, social security, and budgeting/finical security.  If possible try not to read the PowerPoint word for word as it appears on our slides.  Be able to explain topics from off the top of your head as you understand it from your research.  It will help to speak with more clarity and also help you learn the material.  As always good luck and stay positive.  We will do well I have the utmost confidence in our group to succeed on Thursday. Charles Legido

Presentation progress

I've completed everything on my end for our group presentation.  Make sure everyone has the study guide and your slides completed before Tuesday so we can cover any last minute discrepancies together as a group. Charles Legido
